Ebor Hearing Healthcare was established over 20 years ago to help those experiencing difficulty with their hearing. We are a family firm with branches in York and Scarborough, and we also conduct a weekly session at Scarborough Hospital. We undertake full audiological assessments for hearing instrument dispensing. We can also supply tinnitus maskers, noise protection products, custom made swim plugs, batteries and other accessories. Our aim has always been to provide a caring, professional service and to offer the best possible advice to our clients. We are fully independent and can offer the very latest in hearing instrument technology from the worlds leading manufacturers.

Derek Charlwood	Neil Charlwood

Derek Charlwood, RHAD, FSHAA is fully licensed by the government to dispense hearing instruments in the UK. All hearing aid dispensers are registered with the Hearing Aid Council, a government sponsored body. He has been practicing for over 20 years and has been the managing director since he moved up to Yorkshire in 1995. He is a member of the British Society of Audiology, a national body encompassing many aspects of audiology, including ENT consultants, NHS technicians, audiological scientists and many others. He is a Fellow of the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists. He is also the treasurer and a full member of the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals, a body of hearing aid audiologists throughout the country with the aim of promoting high professional and ethical standards in private hearing aid dispensing.

Neil Charlwood, BA(hons), RHAD, MSHAA is Derek’s son who joined the business in 2001 and is a fully qualified hearing aid dispenser. He is a member the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologsts as well as being an associate member of the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare professionals.

All of these professional bodies encourage ongoing training and we attend several meetings each year in order to learn of the latest developments in the industry.

We also undertake dispensing work on behalf of local ENT consultants both in York and Scarborough, as well as dispensing on behalf of the Disabilities Services Team (DST) at the Department of Employment in York.
